NHRC Suo Motu Intervention Rescues Indian Workers in Thailand
The National Human Rights Commission intervened to rescue six Indian workers held captive and tortured by their employer in Thailand.

- MEA acted swiftly, rescuing six Indian workers in Thailand.
- Four workers were repatriated to India on February 21st, 2026.
- Their employer paid for the return journey to India from Bangkok.
- The remaining two face legal process for overstaying their visa.

DGFT Extends Export Obligation Period for Export Schemes
The **DGFT** has extended the Export Obligation period for certain export promotion schemes due to geopolitical disruptions.
- The DGFT issued Public Notice No. 51/2025-206 on March 06, 2026.
- Export Obligation (EO) period is extended up to August 31, 2026.
- It applies to Advance Authorisations and EPCG Authorisations.
- Affected EO periods are expiring between March 01, 2026, and May 31, 2026.
- The extension is automatic; no application or fees are required.
💡 Remember: DGFT extended EO for Advance/EPCG Authorisations till August 31, 2026, for March-May 2026 expiry, no fees.

India sets Green Ammonia, Methanol emission standards
The Government of India has notified new standards for Green Ammonia and Green Methanol to boost green hydrogen derivatives trade.
- Standards were notified on February 27, 2026, under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
- Green Ammonia must have <= 0.38 kg CO₂ equivalent per kg (avg. 12 months).
- Green Methanol must have <= 0.44 kg CO₂ equivalent per kg (avg. 12 months).
- CO2 for Green Methanol can be from biogenic, Direct Air Capture (DAC), or industrial sources.
💡 Remember the February 27, 2026 notification for National Green Hydrogen Mission and emission caps: Ammonia 0.38, Methanol 0.44.

PMBJP: Expanding Affordable Healthcare Access Nationwide
The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) aims to provide quality generic medicines at significantly lower prices across India.
- Over 18,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras (JAKs) currently supply generic medicines.
- The Government aims to open 25,000 JAKs by March 2027.
- Medicines at JAKs are 50-80% lower priced than branded alternatives.
- Over 100 crore Suvidha sanitary pads sold by 31 January 2026 at ₹1 each.
- The Jan Aushadhi Sugam mobile app, launched in 2019, enhances digital access.
