ECI Ensures Minimum Facilities, Voter Assistance at Polling Stations
The **Election Commission of India (ECI)** has directed states to provide **Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs)** and voter assistance at all **2,18,807 polling stations**.
- AMFs include drinking water, shaded waiting areas, toilets, lighting, ramps for PwD electors, and proper signage.
- Voter Facilitation Posters (VFP) will display polling details, candidate lists, do's/don'ts, and ID documents.
- Voter Assistance Booths (VABs) with BLOs will help electors locate their booth and serial numbers.
- A mobile phone deposit facility will be available outside polling stations for voter convenience.

7th Tranche Auction of Critical and Strategic Minerals Launched
The Ministry of Mines is launching the seventh tranche of auctions for critical and strategic mineral blocks to boost mineral security.
- The 7th Tranche will offer 19 blocks for auction under Mining Lease and Composite Licence.
- The MMDR Act, 1957 was amended on 17 August 2023, notifying 24 minerals as critical.
- Revenue from these auctions goes to the respective State Governments.
- The Ministry of Mines has already auctioned 46 blocks in six tranches.
- The Mineral (Auction) Amendment Rules, 2026 introduced Insurance Surety Bond.
