India Achieves Autonomous Space Docking, Targets Space Station
India successfully demonstrated autonomous docking and undocking in space, paving the way for future ambitious missions like a national space station.
- In January 2025, India achieved autonomous docking and undocking in space via Space Docking Experiment (SPADEX).
- This made India the fourth nation after the United States, Russia, and China to demonstrate this capability.
- The mission also tested power transfer between satellites and a robotic arm in microgravity.
- The indigenous Bharatiya Docking System is crucial for Bharatiya Antriksha Station (BAS), Chandrayaan-4, and Gaganyaan.

India Commissions Three Indigenously Built Naval Ships
Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned three new indigenously designed and built naval ships at **Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port**, Kolkata.
- INS Dunagiri (stealth frigate), INS Sanshodhak (survey vessel), and INS Agray (anti-submarine craft) were commissioned.
- All three ships were designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau and built by GRSE in Kolkata.
- These ships have over 75 percent indigenous content, contributing to 'Aatmanirbharta'.
- The commissioning of INS Sanshodhak coincided with World Hydrography Day on June 21.

India, under its BRICS Chairship 2026, will host the 11th BRICS Energy Ministers’ Meeting on 25–26 June 2026 in Gurugram.
- India's 2026 BRICS Chairship theme is "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability (BRICS)".
- The meeting's Energy Track theme is "सर्वेषां ऊर्जम्" (Energy for All).
- BRICS comprises 11 countries, representing nearly half the world’s population.
- India’s three energy priorities are Energy Security, Access & Equity, and Technology & Innovation.
