Department of Justice Observes Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026
The Department of Justice is observing a fortnight-long Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, focusing on cleanliness and community participation.
- The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 runs from 17th September to 2nd October, 2026.
- Its theme is "Swachhta Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bhart".
- Activities include Shramdaan, a tree plantation drive under "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam", and auction of unserviceable items.
- The Department will join a nationwide "Ek Din, Ek Ghanta Ek Saath" shramdaan on 01.10.2026.

NHRC Hosts ITEC Human Rights Program for Global South
NHRC, India, in partnership with the MEA, concluded its fifth ITEC capacity-building program on human rights for Global South NHRIs.
- The NHRC, India organised its fifth ITEC Executive Capacity Building Programme.
- The program, held in New Delhi, focused on human rights for NHRIs of the Global South.
- It was a six-day event, running from 14th September 2026.
- 38 senior functionaries from 14 NHRIs participated.

TRAI Strengthens Regulations to Combat Unsolicited Commercial Communications
TRAI has amended the TCCCPR, 2018 to enhance consumer protection and curb spam through new technology-driven enforcement and accountability measures.
- TRAI introduced the Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2026.
- New rules mandate TSPs to use AI/ML for detecting and sharing suspected UCC sender data.
- An appeal mechanism allows consumers to appeal UCC complaint resolutions within 15 days.
- Application-to-Person (A2P) calls now require prior declaration to TSPs; undeclared calls are UCC.
- A termination charge of up to ₹0.05 per minute is levied for non-exempted A2P calls.
- Commercial communications based on inquiry are valid only for seven days from the inquiry date.
- Misuse of Headers or Content Templates can lead to suspension within six hours and blacklisting of Telemarketers.
