CBN seizes over 4.2 tonnes of poppy straw in MP
The **Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN)**, Madhya Pradesh Unit, conducted two operations seizing 4,209.80 kg of poppy straw.

DRI seizes 5.8 kg foreign gold worth ₹9 crore
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) intercepted a car in Visakhapatnam, recovering smuggled gold and arresting two individuals.
- DRI intercepted a car carrying two passengers from Kolkata to Hyderabad.
- 5,832.90 grams of 24-carat foreign-origin gold was recovered.
- The seized gold is valued at approximately Rs. 8.98 crore.
- Gold was smuggled into India via the Indo-Bangladesh border.
- The seizure occurred during 08–09 October 2026 at Visakhapatnam.

DRI Seizes 7.8 kg Smuggled Gold from Bangladesh Border
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted operations seizing foreign-origin gold and arresting six persons involved in cross-border smuggling.
- DRI seized approximately 7.8 kg of foreign-origin gold on 08–09 October 2026.
- The seized gold is valued at over Rs. 11.50 crore.
- Operations targeted smuggling from Bangladesh via Banpur and Tripura.
- Six persons were arrested across West Bengal and at Dankuni Toll Plaza.
- Smugglers used road and railway networks to transport gold to Kolkata.

DRI seizes 5.753 kg Crystal Meth from train passenger
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) intercepted a train passenger and seized a significant quantity of Methamphetamine.
- DRI, Mangalore Regional Unit, intercepted a passenger on 08–09.10.2026.
- 5.753 kg of Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth) was recovered.
- The substance was seized under the NDPS Act, 1985.
- Seized quantity is above commercial quantity of 50 grams.

Mission Aatmanirbharta in Pulses: Boosting Production, Reducing Imports
Launched on October 11, 2025, the mission aims for self-sufficiency in pulses by 2030-31 with a ₹11,440 crore allocation.
- India is the world's largest producer of pulses, containing 20-25% protein.
- Target: 350 lakh tonnes production, 1,130 kg/hectare yield by 2030-31.
- Focus on Tur, Urad, Masoor; 87.5 lakh free seed kits to be distributed.
- Procurement by NCCF and NAFED assures 100% buy-back of Tur, Masoor, Urad for 4 years.
- Imports declined 31.52% (₹46,427.60 crore to ₹31,793.59 crore) in 2025-26.
- Digital platforms like SATHI and E-Samriddhi ensure transparency and payments.
💡 Mission Aatmanirbharta in Pulses (2025-2031) aims for 350 lakh tonnes production, reduces imports, and uses digital tools for procurement.
