TRAI Extends Deadline for Telecom Commercial Communication Regulations
**TRAI** has extended the deadline for comments on proposed amendments to telecom commercial communication regulations due to stakeholder requests.
- TRAI issued a consultation on "Draft Telecom Commercial Communication Preference (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2026".
- The original comment deadline was 12th April 2026, and counter-comments by 27th April 2026.
- The new deadline for comments is 19th April 2026, and counter-comments by 4th May 2026.
- No further extension will be granted for submissions.

ECI Briefs Central Observers for Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections

MoSPI Reveals Insights on Unincorporated Construction Sector & Household Building
MoSPI released a pilot study's technical report on the unincorporated construction sector and own-account household construction, the first such NSO effort in decades.
- Approximately 98.54 lakh households undertook own-account construction for self-use in the last 365 days.
- An estimated 10.27 lakh unincorporated construction agencies were engaged in this sector.
- Around 77 per cent of these agencies engaged at least one hired worker regularly.
- Average fixed assets per unincorporated establishment were ₹5.21 lakh.
- Nearly 23% of rural households availed institutional funding for own-account construction.
