New Rules Set Iron Ore Average Sale Price
The Ministry of Mines has notified new rules to calculate the average sale price of low-grade haematite iron ore, including BHQ and BHJ.
- The Minerals Concession (Third Amendment) Rules, 2026 were notified on April 10, 2026.
- They provide methodology for Average Sale Price (ASP) of Haematite Iron Ore below 45% Fe (Min.).
- For 35% to below 45% Fe grade, ASP is 75% of 45% to below 51% Fe grade.
- For below 35% Fe grade, ASP is 50% of 45% to below 51% Fe grade.
- Royalty on run-of-mine cannot decrease its economic value due to processing.
💡 Remember: The 2026 Mines Rules clarify low-grade iron ore ASP calculation based on Fe content percentages to promote beneficiation and ensure self-sufficiency.

Mission Poshan 2.0: Strengthening India’s Nutrition Ecosystem
**Mission Poshan 2.0** unifies various nutrition initiatives into an integrated framework for improved nutrition outcomes across India.
- Launched on March 8, 2018, as POSHAN Abhiyaan, it became Mission Poshan 2.0 in the Union Budget 2021–22.
- It subsumes Anganwadi Services, Scheme for Adolescent Girls, and POSHAN Abhiyaan.
- The mission emphasizes maternal nutrition, IYCF, and treatment of SAM/MAM.
- Revised nutrition norms were issued in January 2023 for supplementary nutrition under NFSA, 2013.
- It uses the Poshan Tracker Application for near real-time monitoring of 14 lakh Anganwadi Centres and 9 crore beneficiaries.

New National Highways Fee Rules for Overloaded Vehicles
The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways notified new rules from **April 15, 2026**, to streamline fees for overloaded vehicles on National Highways.
- New rules revise fees for vehicles carrying loads beyond Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
- Up to 10% excess load incurs no fee; 10-40% incurs 2x base rate.
- Loads above 40% will be charged at 4 times the base rate.
- Overloading will be determined by certified weight measurement devices.
- Overload fees will be collected solely via FASTag.
- Details of overloaded vehicles will be reported to National Vehicle Register (VAHAN).
💡 Remember the new fee tiers (0x, 2x, 4x) based on overloading percentage, FASTag for payment, and VAHAN reporting.
