Government Boosts MSP Procurement in Chhattisgarh and Bihar
The government is expanding MSP procurement under PM-AASHA in Chhattisgarh and launching new pulse procurement in Bihar.
- NCCF initiated first-ever structured masoor procurement in Bihar under Atmanirbhar Pulses Mission.
- As of 22 April 2026, Bihar procured 100.4 MT of masoor from 59 farmers.
- In Chhattisgarh, PM-AASHA procurement uses E-Samyukti portal and 85 PACS centres.
- By 22 April 2026, NCCF procured 9,032 MT chana and 7.98 MT masoor in Chhattisgarh.
- NAFED opened 137 centres in Chhattisgarh, procuring 3,850 MT chana.
- The initiatives strengthen the MSP ecosystem for better farmer price realization.

NAMASTE Scheme: Empowering Sanitation Workers, Expanding Coverage, Enhancing Subsidies
The NAMASTE Scheme, launched in FY 2023–24, aims to ensure dignity, safety, and economic empowerment for sanitation workers.
- 90,942 sewer/septic tank workers profiled; 89,248 validated.
- 87,037 workers received PPE kits; 76,247 covered by health insurance.
- 983 sanitation workers received ₹34.17 crore subsidy for 364 vehicles.
- Since June 2024, waste pickers are included as target group.
- 3,78,547 waste pickers profiled; 2,52,163 validated.
- 1,31,864 waste pickers received PPE kits.
- In 2025–26, individual capital subsidy ceiling increased to ₹7.50 lakh.
- Group project subsidy ceiling increased to ₹25.00 lakh (up to five beneficiaries).
- New component offers 25% upfront capital subsidy to PSSOs and contractors.

Insurance Sector: Growth and Reforms Driving "Insurance for All"
India's insurance sector is undergoing significant reforms to expand coverage and strengthen social security, driven by the "Insurance for All by 2047" vision.
- India ranks as the 10th largest insurance market globally by premium volume (Swiss Re Report).
- The FDI limit in insurance was raised to 100% by the Sabka Bima, Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Act, 2025.
- The share of insurance and pension funds in household financial assets rose to 29.6% in FY25 from 28.6% in FY19.

CGTMSE Hosts Global Symposium on Collateral-Free Credit
The **CGTMSE** recently organized a Global Symposium and the 38th Annual ACSIC Conference in Mumbai for its Silver Jubilee.
- The Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) hosted a Global Symposium on Credit Guarantees.
- This event also included the 38th Annual Conference of the Asian Credit Supplementation Institution Confederation (ACSIC).
- Delegates from over 19 countries and 26 organizations participated in the Mumbai symposium.
- The symposium highlighted the importance of collateral-free credit for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs).

India Amends ATF Control Order for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Blending
India has amended the Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) Control Order to include Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) under its regulatory ambit.
- The ATF Control Order, 2001 was amended via notification on 17 April 2026.
- This brings Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) under the ATF control order.
- India targets 1% SAF in international flights by 2027, rising to 5% by 2030.
- SAF is a renewable fuel derived from waste, reducing GHG emissions.
- The amendment aligns with ICAO's CORSIA scheme for international aviation emissions.
- SAF must meet BIS and CORSIA sustainability criteria.
