Viksit Bharat-G RAM G Act, 2025 Replaces MGNREGA
The **Viksit Bharat-G RAM G Act, 2025** is a new rural employment and development legislation replacing **Mahatma Gandhi NREGA** from **July 1, 2026**.
- The Act guarantees 125 days of unskilled wage employment to rural households, up from 100 days.
- It comes into force across all rural areas from 01/07/2026, repealing Mahatma Gandhi NREGA on the same date.
- Funding is shared 90:10 for North Eastern/Himalayan states, 60:40 for other states/UTs with legislature, and 100% Central for UTs without legislature.
- Employment must be provided within 15 days of application, or unemployment allowance is payable by the State Government.
💡 For the exam: Remember VB-GRAM G (2025) provides 125 days employment from 01/07/2026, replacing MGNREGA with different fund sharing.

VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 Replaces MGNREGA
The new **Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025** is effective from **July 1, 2026**, replacing **MGNREGA, 2005**.
- The VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 commences from 01/07/2026 across all rural areas.
- It enhances the statutory employment guarantee from 100 to 125 days per financial year.
- The Act aims to align rural employment with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.
- It repeals the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005 from 01/07/2026.
- Wages are to be paid weekly or within fifteen days, with compensation for delays.
💡 Remember: VB-G RAM G (2025) starts July 1, 2026, boosting guaranteed days to 125, replacing MGNREGA (2005).

SEHAT Mission launched: Bridging agriculture, nutrition, and health
The 'SEHAT Mission' has been launched on **11 May 2026** by two Union Ministers to link agriculture, nutrition, and public health.
- The SEHAT Mission was launched by Union Ministers Shri JP Nadda and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
- It is a joint initiative of ICAR and ICMR.
- The mission aims for Healthy Food, Healthy Farms, and a Healthy India.
- It focuses on bio-fortified crops and farmer safety.

First Integrated CCUS Field Lab Inaugurated at IIT Bombay
India's first Integrated Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) Field Laboratory Facility was inaugurated at IIT Bombay under Bharat Innovates 2026.
- The facility integrates indigenous carbon capture technology with utilisation and permanent geological sequestration.
- It features an IIT Bombay developed aqueous-based catalytic CO₂ capture technology.
- The CCU Pilot Facility has a capacity of up to 3 tonnes per day.
- Geological CO₂ Sequestration (GCS) scientific drilling commenced in Deccan Traps.
- UrjanovaC, incubated at SINE, IIT Bombay, is scaling up the technology.
💡 The IIT Bombay facility is India's first end-to-end CCUS lab, integrating capture, utilisation, and Deccan Traps sequestration with an UrjanovaC scale-up.

**SEHAT** Mission Launched for Agriculture-Nutrition-Health Convergence
The **ICMR** and **ICAR** launched **SEHAT** (Science Excellence for Health through Agricultural Transformation) to link agricultural advancements with public health outcomes.
- SEHAT is a national mission-mode program launched on 11 May 2026.
- It is a joint initiative of ICMR and ICAR to translate agricultural advancements into health outcomes.
- SEHAT prioritises biofortified crops, integrated farming systems, and NCD prevention.

The **Viksit Bharat – G RAM G Act, 2025** will replace **MGNREGA, 2005** nationwide from **July 1st, 2026**.
- The VB–G RAM G Act, 2025 was notified on 11 May 2026.
- It guarantees 125 days of wage employment to rural households annually.
- A record ₹95,692.31 crore is allocated for 2026–27.
- Existing job cards remain valid until new Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Cards are issued.
