ECI hosts workshop on electoral risk management for 12 nations
The ECI, with International IDEA, held a 5-day workshop in New Delhi to strengthen electoral resilience and risk management.

- It was held at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi.
- 32 participants from 12 countries attended, representing Election Management Bodies (EMBs).
- The workshop aimed to institutionalise structured electoral risk management frameworks and systems.
- It included practical demonstrations of the Electoral Risk Management Tool (ERM Tool).

LPG Control Order Amended for PNG Consumers
The government amended the LPG Control Order, 2026, offering new options for domestic LPG consumers with PNG connections.
- The LPG (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Amendment Order, 2026 was notified on 25th May, 2026.
- Consumers can terminate LPG connection within 30 days of getting PNG.
- Consumers can obtain a transfer voucher for future LPG restoration in non-PNG areas.

India Revises Industrial Production Index Base Year to 2022-23
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has released a report detailing revisions to the All-India Index of Industrial Production (IIP) base year.
- The base year for the All-India IIP has been revised from 2011-12 to 2022-23.
- The new IIP series, effective June 1, 2026, expands coverage to include Minor Minerals, Rare Earth Minerals, Gas Supply, Water Supply, and Sewerage & Waste Management.
- The revised item basket consists of 1,042 products mapped to 463 item groups, aligning with NIC-2025.
- It introduces sub-indices for renewable and non-renewable electricity and three sub-indices for the Mining and Quarrying sector.
- A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), formed in September 2024, guided the base year revision process.
💡 For the exam: Remember the new IIP base year is 2022-23, replacing 2011-12, with broader coverage and new sub-indices from June 1, 2026.
