West Bengal Assembly Joins NeVA for Digital Legislative Governance
The West Bengal Legislative Assembly signed a tripartite MoU to implement the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), aiming for digital transformation.
- West Bengal Legislative Assembly became the 33rd Legislature to join the NeVA initiative.
- The NeVA project is a Mission Mode Project of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
- It aims to digitise legislatures for paperless, transparent, efficient governance.
- 21 Legislatures have successfully transitioned to fully digital functioning via NeVA.

India's Green Initiatives: Forests and Rivers
India has undertaken comprehensive efforts over the past twelve years to expand green cover and restore river ecosystems.
- Green India Mission (GIM), launched in FY 2015–16, has received ₹1019.26 crores across states by March 2026.
- India's forest and tree cover is 8.27 lakh sq. km (25.17% of geographical area) as per ISFR 2023.
- CAMPA facilitated over 3.20 lakh hectares of afforestation between FY 2020–21 and 2024–25.
- Nagar Van Yojana aims for 1000 Nagar Vans by 2026-27; 626 developed with ₹557.62 crore by March 31, 2026.
- Namami Gange Programme, launched June 2014, was extended till March 2026 with an additional ₹22,500 crore.

IICA hosts insolvency convocation, national conference on IBC decade
The **IICA** will host the 6th **PGIP** convocation and a national conference celebrating a decade of the **Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code**.
- The IICA will organize the 6th Batch PGIP Convocation Ceremony on 13th June 2026.
- A National Conference, “Redefining India’s Restructuring Ecosystem: A Decade of Learning – Directions for the Future” will follow.

PM Surya Ghar Yojana Targets 75 Lakh Households by December 2026

India’s First Flex-Fuel Passenger Vehicle Launched
India has launched its first flex-fuel passenger vehicle, marking a significant step towards energy transition and farmer prosperity.
- Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri launched India’s first flex-fuel passenger vehicle by Maruti Suzuki on June 4, 2026.
- Flex-fuel vehicles can operate on ethanol–petrol blends from E20 up to E100.
- Ethanol blending increased from less than 1.5% in 2013-14 to 20% in 2025-26.
- If 50% of new two/four wheelers shift to flex fuel, it could generate ₹12,403 crore additional income for farmers.
- E85 is identified as the mono-fuel standard under BIS specifications for Flex-Fuel Vehicles.
- NITI Aayog classifies ethanol-based FFVs (including E85) as Zero-Emission Vehicles.
