New WPI Series with Base Year 2022-23 Released
The **DPIIT** has released a revised Wholesale Price Index (WPI) series, replacing the 2011-12 base year, along with new Producer Price Indices.
- The WPI base year has been revised from 2011-12 to 2022-23.
- The number of items in the WPI basket increased from 697 to 957.
- New/Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind, Nuclear) is included under 'Electricity'.

- New Producer Price Indices (OPPI, IPPI, Service PPI) are also released for 7 services.
- The new WPI and PPI will be released for five years before WPI is discontinued.
- WPI inflation for May 2026 is 9.68 percent on a YoY basis.
- Monthly provisional estimates for WPI, OPPI, IPPI are released on the 14th of the following month.
- Quarterly provisional estimates for Service PPIs are released with a 55-day lag.

UPSC Releases CAPF (ACs) Reserve List, Following Court Order
UPSC announced additional recommendations for CAPF (ACs) Examination, 2024, following a Delhi High Court judgment and revised the reserve list.
- UPSC recommended 04 candidates for Assistant Commandants based on a Delhi High Court judgment dated 10.12.2025.
- The Reserve List for CAPF (ACs) Examination, 2024, was revised from 112 to 110 candidates.
- UPSC recommended 55 candidates from the revised Reserve List to fill remaining posts.
- The final selection of candidates is subject to the outcome of WP(C) No. 5877/2022 and WP(C) No. 6638/2025.
