DRI Seizes 1.11 Lakh Cough Syrup Bottles in East India
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized over 1.11 lakh bottles of Codeine-based cough syrup in two operations.
- DRI seized 1.11 lakh Codeine-based cough syrup bottles.
- Operations took place in Tripura and West Bengal.
- First seizure on 02.07.26 involved 55,626 bottles.
- One person was arrested in the Agartala bound consignment.
- Second seizure involved 56,225 bottles in Dankuni, West Bengal.
- Contraband was concealed in metallic/iron drums.
- Seizures were made under the NDPS Act, 1985.

Ethanol Blending Programme Powers Energy Security, Saves FOREX
India's Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme significantly boosts energy security and farmer incomes, achieving its 20% blending target ahead of schedule.
- Ethanol blending increased from less than 1.5% in 2013-14 to 20% in 2025-26.
- India achieved the 20% blending target five years ahead of schedule.
- Over ₹1.90+ lakh crore saved in foreign exchange since 2014-15 (up to May 2026).
- Additional ₹1.60+ lakh crore earned by farmers from the programme.
- Production capacity expanded nearly fivefold from 421 crore litres in 2014 to about 2,000 crore litres in 2026.

Launched in October 2023, **MY Bharat** is a digital platform under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to empower India's youth.
