New CoE & Portal for Human-Wildlife Conflict Management
A new Centre of Excellence and a national portal were launched to tackle growing human-wildlife conflict challenges in India.
- Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav inaugurated the Centre of Excellence on Human–Wildlife Conflict.
- The CoE is located at WII-SACON, Coimbatore, and launched on July 10, 2026.
- The National Human–Wildlife Conflict Portal was also launched for data management and knowledge sharing.
- The CoE will strengthen scientific management of conflict, as announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
- A publication, ‘Current Status of Human–Wildlife Conflict in India: An Overview’, was released.

Mandatory TReDS for CPSE-MSME Invoices to Ensure Faster Payments
Government mandates all Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to settle MSME invoices via TReDS, fulfilling a Union Budget 2026–27 commitment.
- All Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) must now settle MSME invoices through RBI-authorised TReDS platforms.
- This mandate, issued on 30 June 2026, stems from the Union Budget 2026–27.
- CPSEs must disclose TReDS settlement details and obtain a statutory auditor's certificate.
- TReDS, operational since 2017, allows MSMEs to convert approved invoices into cash, collateral-free.
- Invoice discounting on TReDS increased from ₹40,000 crore in FY 2021-22 to ₹3.47 lakh crore in FY 2025-26.
💡 Remember: All CPSEs now use RBI-regulated TReDS for MSME payments, ensuring faster, collateral-free cash.

India and Australia bolster traditional knowledge protection with TKDL access
India and Australia signed an agreement providing **IP Australia** access to India's **Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL)** to prevent misappropriation.
- The agreement was signed on 9 July 2026 during the 3rd India–Australia Annual Summit.
- It allows IP Australia to access the CSIR-TKDL database for patent examination.
- The TKDL, established in 2001, prevents erroneous patent grants on Indian traditional knowledge.
- The CSIR-TKDL has information on over 5.2 lakh formulations in five languages.
- This agreement gives 18 patent offices access to the database under NDAs.
💡 Remember: India and Australia partnered on 9 July 2026 for TKDL access, preventing traditional knowledge patenting, leveraging a database established in 2001.
