DPIIT Amends Footwear QCOs, Extends Legacy Stock Clearance
DPIIT amended two footwear Quality Control Orders to ease business and boost domestic manufacturing.
- DPIIT extended legacy stock clearance to 31 July 2027.
- Manufacturers can import up to 4,500 footwear samples annually for R&D.
- Samples must be marked "NOT FOR SALE" and disposed of as scrap after use.
- Amendments align with "Zero Defect, Zero Effect" and Make in India.

VP Launches National Programme for High Seas Fisheries Authorisation
India's Vice President launched a national program to authorize sustainable high seas fishing, empowering fishermen and boosting the sector.

LoA Launched for Sustainable High Seas Fisheries Harnessing
The **Vice President** launched the Letter of Authorisation (**LoA**) to enable sustainable and regulated fishing in high seas and **Odisha Deep Sea Fishing Mission Document**.
- LoA was launched on 9th July 2026 in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, by Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan.
- The LoA operationalizes the framework announced in the Union Budget 2025–26 for high seas fisheries.
- It allows eligible Indian-flagged fishing vessels to operate in high seas.
