DRI seizes 21 kg gold, arrests five in smuggling crackdown
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized foreign-origin gold in two operations, valued over Rs. 61 crore.
- DRI seized approximately 21 kg foreign-origin gold in two recent operations.
- The gold was cumulatively valued at more than Rs. 61 crore.
- Five persons were arrested under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.
- One operation on 19.09.26 involved 15.18 kg gold smuggled from Myanmar.
- Another operation on 16.09.26 seized 5.8 kg gold from Nepal via Kathmandu.
💡 DRI operations on 19.09.26 and 16.09.26 led to the seizure of 21 kg gold worth Rs. 61 crore and five arrests under the Customs Act, 1962.

DRI seizes 12 kg smuggled gold from Bangladesh border
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted operations, seizing foreign-origin gold smuggled via the India-Bangladesh border.

- Operations occurred in West Bengal and Bihar between 10-21.09.26.
- BSF personnel recovered gold near the India-Bangladesh Border.

DRI Seizes Endangered Tokay Geckos in Assam Operation
DRI intercepted two individuals in Assam, recovering 86 live Tokay Geckos involved in illegal wildlife trade.
- DRI seized 86 live Tokay Geckos in Mariani, Assam on 22.09.2026.
- Tokay Gecko is listed under Schedule I of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
- It is also under Appendix-II of CITES, regulating international trade.

KAVACH 4.0: Indian Railways' New Automatic Train Protection System
Indian Railways has successfully commissioned **KAVACH Version 4.0**, an indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system, on the **South Central Railway**.
- KAVACH 4.0 was deployed on 108 Route Kilometres of the Malkajgiri-Kamareddi section.
- This version upgrades from KAVACH Version 3.2, previously deployed over 1,465 Route Kilometres.
- It features increased location accuracy and station-to-station interface via Optical Fibre Cable (OFC).
- KAVACH is designed to prevent Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD) and apply brakes automatically.
- The system holds Safety Integrity Level-4 (SIL-4) certification.
