India conducts long-duration test of Scramjet Combustor for Hypersonic Missiles
DRDO successfully tested an Actively Cooled Full Scale Scramjet Combustor for over 1,200 seconds.
- DRDL of DRDO conducted an extensive long-duration test.
- The Scramjet Combustor achieved a run-time of over 1,200 seconds.
- Test was conducted at SCPT Facility in Hyderabad on May 09, 2026.
- This technology uses indigenously developed liquid hydrocarbon fuel.

NMSA: Building Climate-Resilient Farming in India
The National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) enhances climate resilience in Indian agriculture through integrated interventions.
- Since 2014-15, Rainfed Area Development (RAD) has covered 8.50 lakh hectares, benefiting 14.35 lakh farmers.
- The Per Drop More Crop (PDMC) scheme has covered 109 lakh hectares since 2015-16, with ₹26,325 crore central assistance.
- Under Soil Health Management, 25.79 crore Soil Health Cards have been generated since 2015.
- Between 2014 and 2025, 2,996 climate-resilient crop varieties were released.

Three flagship social security schemes – PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY – launched on May 9, 2015, complete 11 years.
- The schemes PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY were launched on May 9, 2015.
- PMJJBY provides life insurance cover for ages 18 to 50 at ₹436 per annum.
- PMSBY offers accidental death/disability cover for ages 18 to 70 at ₹20 per annum.
- As of April 29, 2026, PMJJBY had over 27.43 crore enrolments.
- As of April 29, 2026, PMSBY had over 58.09 crore enrolments.
- As of April 30, 2026, APY had over 9.04 crore enrolments.

PMGSY-IV Launched, Bolstering Rural Road Connectivity
The national launch of PMGSY-IV and PM-JANMAN initiatives celebrated 25 years of rural road development.
- PMGSY-IV and PM-JANMAN were nationally launched on May 10 in Bhairunda, Madhya Pradesh.
- Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a ₹18,907 crore allocation for PMGSY for 2026-27.
- Madhya Pradesh will receive ₹830 crore and approval for 2,117 km of roads under PMGSY-IV.
- Over 384 km of road projects were approved under PM-JANMAN, benefiting 168 backward habitations.
